I know Mr WHS could answer this for me but not sure if he's around,,, im also not sure if this is just a driver
issue or an SSD firmware issue.
I just installed a Corsair F60 SSD drive in a machine with an Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard which does not have an AHCI mode option in the bios.
The Corsair was an open item i got at Frys,,, When i first installed it i used the tutorials on here to "Clean All" partition the disk etc,,, all went well and no issues or errors,,, Now ive run all windows 7 64 Ultimate updates etc,,,, and im happy with how its running however i do have some slow boot times (60+ seconds) and i have two "Other Devices" showing in the device manager #1 being Mass Storage Controller and the other as an Unknown Device. As far as i can tell ive installed all the "possible" drivers
for W7U (actually Vista 64 because the board so old) So now im thinking maybe the firmware was wiped off the drive when i did the "Clean All" and format tutorial or possibly the person before me that returned the drive wiped the firmware off it.
Anyhow id like to install the newest firmware but really dont feel like reinstalling W7U and the drivers again etc,,, and ive read that using an image to restore the drive can screw up alignment or something so im leary of doing that too,,,
Suggestions??? Ideas? Does this sound like firmware issue or a driver issue? can i just install any kind of Mass Storage Controller driver and see if it works?
