Windows 7: Problems with RAM/Hardware Reserved

Ive got a Sony Vaio 64bit laptop dual processor 2.20 GHz. Its been very slow - the computer usage will stay about 70% and memory usage is alwasy >90%?? I looked at resource monitor and:

2300MB hardware reserved
664MB in use
3MB modified
94MB standbye
1MB Free

Currently if I look at the system profile there is 3GB of RAM installed with only about 700mb free; Im assuming this should be upwards to about 2.3GB free?

What is going on here? Why is the hardware reserved memory sooo high? Im assuming thats why it is slow - there is no free memory. Im guessing one of my RAM sticks is the problem.

Im assuming there is a 2GB + 1GB RAM sticks installed; Say one of these arent working properly, would the system profile still show 3GB or would it show less? Would you think this is a problem with the RAM sticks?

Do us and yourself a favor and post one thread for one problem at one time for one computer. You will get better results and we won't be going in circles.
