Borrowed external keyboard is not working.

Hello people,

I got this problem with an external keyboard I borrowed from a friend. First two days it worked without a problem, but two days later it stopped working. I tried to reinstall it a couple of times and sometimes it worked for a couple of seconds, but then it just stopped working again. After a couple of tries it started to give me an error 0x80070015. I tried a system recovery to earlier today, but it didn't work.

I just can't get it to work. PLEASE HELP!

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

To avoid a lot of Q & A about your hardware and OS configuration, please click on this link to
Edit System Specs

Filling this out, at least partially, will save a lot of time. Another advantage is when posting a new problem, the person answering can just click the My System Specs link in the bottom of your post. No need to search for the information.

If you have multiple systems just indicate that in the System Specs so that we know why many of the fields are blank.

=============

The more hardware info the better.

By the way, the error msg is "device not ready." If this keyboard has a cable, maybe the cable has a problem.

It's a wireless bluetooth keyboard.

I've only owned Desktop PCs. So I'll leave it to those with personal experience. I always stick with PS2 keyboard and mouse since I use a kvma switch.

My PS2 keyboard is kinda broken. My w key and my left cursor key aren't responding. So I went to this guy to look at it, but it seemed that the problem lay deeper than it looked so that's why I use an external keyboard...

Okay now I can see it at "Devices and Printers", but the keyboard doesn't respond to anything...

Somebody that has experience with your setup should respond. I have no laptop experience. I tried typing on one for about 6 seconds and decided it wasn't for me. I'd just be shooting in the dark.

Someone with Laptop and Bluetooth Experience Please Help the OP
