Upgrading RAM

Task Manager / Resource Monitor detects 16GB (and the math works CORRECTLY ..... Available, Free, cache, etc makes sense w.r.t 16GB of installed RAM).

I'll post the screenshot later when I reach my PC.

Britton30 : BUt the official Fujitsu docu't says 16GB RAM as Maximum RAM (which the support personnel has judged as "theoretical" and I'm still waiting for his official clarification / response).

If required I can post the screebshot of his email as well (with all due respect to Fujitsu-Germany and their Japanese counterparts)

Yes, this laptop has 2 slots.
And you are correct about the module sizes as well

There is another email from Fujitus service support (I don't like to exaggerate or make a controversy .... but just curious and its getting a bit interesting):
The excerpt is copied below.

" I cannot understand how you can install memory which does not exist.
At the moment there are no Fujitsu certified 8GB RAM modules for the LIFEBOOK AH series, only 4GB modules are available.
If you use any components which are not certified for this Fujitsu notebook, we do not give you any warranty on function/ malfunction.
Please contact your local reseller, if he promised it would fit.
May be 8GB modules will be certified and sold in future, but it has to be original memory".

I already sent him a reply that 8GB is available and infact I already installed 2 * 8GB and my PC i reading it successfuly and the task manager calculations make sense.

(But I understand his point is he or Fujitsu CANNOT guarantee a safe operation for 2 * 8GB modules becasue they may not have tested this as against 2 * 4GB modules which they may have tested and certified for safe operation)

Never the less, i7-3612QM cannot handle 16GB RAM on its motherboard is difficult to "digest".

Isn't it like testing nerves?

Let's dig this more.

I think the man at Fujitsu was trying to say it ............ but diplomatically.

By the way, I just want to share excerpts from emails between me & Fujitsu-Germany, if you are interested, else you can stop here itself.

I completely understand that.
BUt on the other hand, trust me also that this upgrade comes after several consultations with experts and professionals (though Fujitsu may never officially endorse it just because you never tested / approved this configuration (16GB) during production).

In that case, the label should say "Assembled in Germany" instead of "Made in Germany" (like Apple Macbooks) !!

I hope there is a sensible difference between the two tags !!

Never the less, as long as the German quality control & testing is in place (for these apparently "Assembled in Germany" machines) I will still go for Fujitsu.

I'm waiting for his reply.

After this, I guess, Fujitsu will blacklist me !
