Windows 7: LCD laptop screen has distorted colors

How do i fix a laptop LCD screen with distorted colors like the screen has a mix of red dots on desktop, it happens randomly last time now its persistent.

You likely can't, at least not easily. Probably one of three things. The cable from the motherboard to the display is wearing out and has a broken wire(s). The display is failing and needs to be replaced. Or the video card/motherboard has a fault and needs to be replaced. I suppose it could also be a video driver problem but it sounds more like a hardware fault to me.
