    HP Laptop Windows 7

    So heres the deal
I have an HP Pavilion dv7-1264nr laptop
It has Windows Vista 64 Bit with blu ray player and a whopping ATI Radeon HD 3200 2 gb total graphics video memory
becuase it is an HP, HP gives it a bunch of things in it
one thing is the HP Total Care Advisor
it is like amazing cuz it gives updates for every single thing in the computer
The problem is that i dont know if i clean install windows 7 on the PC will i be able to stil have all the HP things and i remember when i first opened the computer it started with an HP first time setup, not a Windows Vista one. Will this happen for windows 7?
I really love the HP things on this PC and i am wondering if they will be there.
I went from Windows Vista to WIndows 7 on my Sony and had a couple things i had to go back and download from sony's website and am also wondering if it will be as simple as that if i can download everything i need later from their website or sometihng.
    thanks

I'm pretty sure you won't get those options because the HP options came with the computer. You'd be getting the same ISO everyone else gets, regardless of your computer.
The HP options are unique the the OEM disk you may have recieved with the computer, afaik
And i'm not sure about the downloadable content from the HP site. You would have to check that out

Having a HP model laptop, I know for a fact that you will not get those features if you did a clean install. If you still want those features an upgrade will be required. =|

If you have any more questions about this you can PM me them if you like.

I say keep it in the thread so others can learn.
Can you download these features somehow?

    Fair enough, I suppose.

I contacted HP at one point to find the location of these files, I can scavenge them up if needed I suppose.

EDIT: I would just need a list of what HP Specific, programs would be wanted/required.

    Just an update for my prior post;

I downloaded/installed HP Health and HP Update. I know for a fact my laptop is not up-to-date.

HP Healthcheck (notebook version) - Does not launch even with compatibility settings.

HP Update - Launches and 'appears' to work.

I was however unable to find HP Total Care as a separate download, apparently, according to HP.. It is not in an 'installer' form.

I read some place that HP is working closely with MS for the "special" software. I have an HP mini and the bluetooth/wifi card had software to turn both or one off at a time and it didn't install in 7 HP upgraded the bios firmware to make it work which I am about to go download and test now. It also fixed some keyboard problem that I wasn't even aware of.

What if i backup all the HP program files on to an external hard drive then put them back or will it not work because its not technicaly installed.
    or
i found a website where i can download it -Here-, will it work?
i went to hp website and to the support and drivers for my specific laptop and i found some stuff like drivers for the webcam and stuff, would things like those work after a clean install?
    Upgrading is my last resort
    thanks
