Hi,
I am using a Samsung SF 510 laptop with Win 7 Home Premium x64 and recently the cursor will not respond to touchpad or usb mouse input. I have already tried reinstalling both the touchpad driver and the usb drivers (even though the mouse is recognized without any problems).
The problem began when, after booting up, I was prompted to perform a system recovery to a previous state. I assumed this occurred because my battery had died after being in sleep for a few days rather than being powered down but I am starting to think it is some rootkit virus (I use Microsoft SE). When Windows recovered, my cursor would not respond and I could not run a full systems diagnostics (running perfmon /report) without an ambiguous error message being generated.
I would like to avoid reformatting my hard drive if possible since I do not have a disk copy of Windows 7 and have never reformatted without one. Any ideas on what I can try to do?
Thanks!
