I am planning on buying a solid state drive soon. Right now I am storing everything on my 2 TB HDD. I want to set up a RAID configuration so that I can have the two disks act as one. How can I do this? I'm still learning about RAID so let me know if you need more information.
Sorry but you can't raid an SSD with a standard hdd, to raid you have to have two of the same size hdd's or SSD's
About the closest you could come in practice would be the Intel Smart Response technology:

It makes the SSD function as a fast cache for the HD. Unfortunately, the largest SSD it can use is 64 GB. (That may actually be the largest partition on the SSD.)
My Asus motherboard offers a similar function with an SSD of arbitrary size, but only on a third party SATA controller.
What I do with a 120 GB SSD is use it for the OS and applications. while keeping the HD for data. If I had a lot of large games, I'd probably keep them on the HD too.
Yeah, I may do that in the future. I think I'll just tick with my HDD for now.
Get an SSD for your operating system, programs and applications and use your 2TB HDD for bulk data storage. The SSD will make windows and applications quicker than a hiccup, and your videos, pictures, documents will be stored on the HDD because they don't benefit from the speed increase enough to waste the space to keep them on the SSD.
No need for RAID in that situation.
That's actually what I had originally planned to do before even considering a raid configuration. How would I move windows along with all of my programs (although i assume they'll move with it) to the new SSD?
