    Wireless USB Disabled on Idle

Title says it all. No matter what I settings I try, I can't prevent my wireless usb dongle from being disabled when I leave the computer for an hour or two, even if the network is transferring information

So far I've tried changing my power setting to high performance, disabling sleep mode and turn off monitor.

In Advanced power settings I've also disabled usb selective suspend and under wireless adapter settings power saving mode is set to maximum performance.

Additionally under network adapter in device managers I unticked the 'allow this computer to turn off this device to save power'

I searched and found that External USB drive unmounts when system idle Had the same problem as me, but it hasn't been solved yet to my knowledge.

    Hello,

Have you tried updating the drivers for that adapter?

Drivers released in 2007 pre-date Windows 7. They are for Vista/XP. I am not positive it is a driver issue, but it is possible.

shoot, I was really hoping it wouldn't be a driver issue since I didn't have this problem with any of the betas, but I guess I could try uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it with compatibility mode.

Edit. Turns out that if I don't shut off my monitor and leave msn on, then my net won't disconnect. It's not the best solution but hey it works

    Hi

I found a resolution for myself somewhere on different site

Basically I've uninstalled the anti virus protection, and restarted computer, installed the USB wireless Adapter and Installed the Anti virus and all works perfect.

Hope this helps you and good luck
