Keyboard and input language

Hi guys,

I have a French laptop (so with a French keyboard) and I am living in Japan now. I have installed a Japanese keyboard and added Japanese as input language. When I choose the right language/keyboard, I have no problem.
However, I have noticed some troubles that I'm gonna try to explain by the example below:

My default language is French, so when I start my laptop, French language+FR keyboard are automatically selected.
Let's say that I open my mail program to write an e-mail. I have to write that e-mail in Japanese, so I change my input language to JP (with IME/JP keyboard).
Then I open Libre office to write some document in Japanese. But FR input language with FR keyboard are selected. So I have to switch again to JP language.
Each time I open a new application/software, I have to select the keyboard.
I thought that if I choose language at session opening Win would automatically keep it along the session, but it looks like it doesn't.

Is there any way to somehow "block" input language during a session? I mean, in a way that I don't need to "manually" change the language when I use my JP keyboard?

Thank you in advance

Changing default language

Have you tried changing your default language?

If you have not, you could try it by following the steps below

Quote:
Start >> control panel >> in the search menu type "language" >> change keyboards and other input devices >> Keyboards and languages >> choose your new language format from the drop down menu near the top if you have already added your keyboard.
this is a rather easy solution IF it works. You could always go in and change it whenever you wish if you wanted to write a document in a different language.

hope this helps.

Yes I did.

The problem is, if I do that, I need to restart my computer and windows is changed to Jap. That is, menu, titles, windows... are all in Japanese.

Because I cannot understand all of names, titles, menus in Japanese and the fact that I have to restart my computer, I hope there would be an other solution...

But thanks for your comment, I'm still working on it
