How to remove/format write-protected USB's?

Hey guys,
I've got a write-protected USB and wanting to remove it so I can manage files on it. I've also searched the webs for methods, however they do not work. I've tried formatting using CMD via safe mode, setting value to 0 in regedit, go into properties and change sharing settings to "full control" but it will not work. Anyone can help me on this?

Thanks guys!

The actual USB flash drive itself. I bought it for cheap like that. So i don't know what the previous owner did.

Tried this. Instead I created the key since it was not there and set the value to 0. Nothing happens

If it's a usb flash it could have a physical switch on it that just needs moved. Other than that we will not be able to help you bypass a password or encrypted protected anything. This will explain.

You could ask the person you bought it from for the password.

OMG wow... After all the searching, it all comes down to a simple switch... Didn't even see that. Thanks Layback!
