External Sata Cables

Some of the plugs are listed as "I type" and some as "L type". What is the difference? I am trying to figure out what I need from rear port to dock.

Take a look at the images here: SATA Cables External and eSATA cables External

Basically, the L type has an extra notch whereas the I type doesn't. See the first image below SATA External Cable Shielded eSATA to SATA (Type “I”) to (Type “L”) for more details.

Yeah

I see the notch. I believe the "L" type is internal. While the "I" type is external. Now if I can just find "I" to "I" 3 ft or more with latches on the plugs. (Sata III)
