    Speaker Problem ?

    Hello,

I have a set of pc speakers that work on a usb connection.

Trying to get a new set, non usb, working.
I guess the plug for these goes to the green jack on the back of my Dell pc.
    Right ?

    Nothing coming out.

How do I tell W7, or the pc, to use this jack, now, rather than usb ?

    Thanks,
    Bob

Open the Windows playback properties and make sure that the onboard sound is set as the default playback device. If it isn't showing, double check in the bios that it is enabled. You may also need to install the driver for it.

    From OP:

    Hi,

    Thanks for help.

Hate to appear dumber than I am with this "stuff," but
where do I find "windows playback properties" that you refer to ?

Is the green colored jack correct for this ?

    Thanks,
    Bob

    Yes on the green jack.

You can find the playback settings by right clicking on the speaker icon near the clock, and selecting from there.
