My vaio laptop blue screened a few days ago, which I thought was due to my sister installing the Sims 3 Seasons on it. I did a system restore which uninstalled the expansion pack, although it had been working fine for more than a week prior to this. Since then it has blue screened a few more times, and although countless system restores seems to have resolved this issue it now reinstalls ACPI x64-based PC, File as Volume
Driver and Volume Manager
drivers every time I turn on the laptop, and I am unable to get the battery icon on my task bar. It is also trying to install unknown devices, which it is never able to do.
And yes, I have gone into task bar properties and the box is shaded out. I tried rebooting explorer.exe but that didn't work. I also just tried disabling and then enabling the Microsoft ACPI compliant control method battery under device manager and that hasn't worked either.
HELP!!! I am running Windows 7 Home Premium
also have norton internet security which i have a feeling could be mucking around with things as well...
