Which IntelliMouse Software download works in Win7 Pro XP Virual Mode?
I have just switched from XP to Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I need the program specific button assignments possible with Intellimouse IntelliPoint 7.1 32-bit for Windows XP (exe)
... I need them to work in Windows 7 Virtual XP Mode.
My problem is that I tried downloading and installing several versions (including the newer v8.2) of Intellipoint Driver/Software meant for both XP or Windows 7 from this MS page
Software Downloads: IntelliMouse Optical
but it seems each of the installations were stopped short by the message similar to "Cannot Be Installed in XP Virtual Mode". The messages varied a little in exact wording but all related to installation not possible in Virtual Mode. Rather than downloading and trying v7.1 and v.8.2 in both PS/2 and then also USB for all the different Windows OS's, I thought I'd ask for help.
Can anyone advise me on a version of Intellipoint software that will load and function in XP Virtual Mode? Any one have this problem before? Anyone know of an unofficial IP driver/software that will work in Virtual Mode? My work habits and speed really rely on program specific button assignments
My mouse is the Intellimouse Optical 1.1 wired USB and PS/2 Compatible (Product ID 55250). It is connected via a PS/2 to USB Keyboard & Mouse adapter which may not be the best solution (and I'll probably change to full USB later) however my true problem is that I can't find a driver that will even execute and install in Virtual Mode.
