That price is for the higher resolution, 2560x1440. I was referring to a 23-24" monitor with an IPS/PLS/VA panel. You can get them for $250-300.

I bet you could........set a monitor with a TN panel next to one with an IPS panel and start looking straight ahead and move to one side or the other. I guarantee before long you'll see a difference.

Maybe if you are working in the movie industry, or doing high end photo or graphics editing it would justify the cost, but for us regular folks, I bet we couldn't pick a PLS monitor out of a lineup!
Yep you would want to have some way of recouping the cost eh?

I understand! It is a big ticket item. Some people like smaller, dual monitors, some people want lots of real estate with a butt-load of pixels. I figure as much money as I've spent on components that go inside a box, I should spend an appropriate amount on a component I have to look at most of the day lol.

Hum the dealer I use stocks Viewsonic but only up to 24" and only two models - well under my top limit but the size is not there.

There are a few deals around though that range from $225 - $330 for the
ViewSonic VA2703 but I am not real sure as I have no experience with this brand.

Hum maybe I shall have to wait till after the big event but thanks to all or the input

Don't worry about the fact I replaced the caps in the power supply in mine. They are 4 years old and "ONE" of them one day took a while to turn on. So they all got re capped. If you have a problem with the invisible buttons on monitors it should be noted they work on capacitance and often a wipe over (unplug from power first) with an alcohol wipe usually cures the weird issues.
