    mute button doesn't work-explorer.exe crashes

    Hello,
i have the MICROSOFT WIRELESS OPTICAL DESKTOP 3000 and the problem is that
    the mute button doesn't work.
This problem came after a format.
I have also tried through human interface device access to automatic startup but still nothing.

I have installed the latest audio drivers still nothing.
I installed optical desktop drivers 3000 and still nothing.

IMPORTANT: When i open "speaker properties" and go to "levels" tab, i push the mute button on my keyboard and the mute button is highlighted on the screen but mute doesn't happen (this i think indicated that mute button works.)After a while of doing this, explorer.exe crashes-reboots and mute button works properly
But when i restart, mute button stops again to work. So i have to crash explorer.exe (like described above) to make it work again.

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanks!

    solved

I found the solution and i post it in case someone has the same problem with me:
    The mousekeyboardcenter-driver fixed the problem.
Hope this helps others that have the same issue because it's a really annoying problem.

    Have a nice day all!!
