Until yesterday, I was able to successfully enjoy a dual monitor on my Acer Aspire 5532 using a AOC 2230 monitor. Unfortunately, today, when I came back from my friends house with my laptop and went to set everything up (plug in all USB, plug in 2nd monitor, and charger) the 2nd monitor wasn't being detected properly. Wrong resolution, wrong driver, etc. As of now, when I try to change the driver to what it was before. It says that it does it succesfully, but then under "Display" in "Screen Resolution" it changes from "Generic Non-PnP Monitor" to "Display device on: VGA". Also, this isn't just a problem that I seem to be having on Windows 7, I went to boot up Ubuntu Linux, (my second OS that I have installed on my computer) and it was having some kind of problems on there as well. I have been looking around and some people are saying that it's possible that my EDID is bad.. I have no idea. Someone please through out some suggestions cause that EDID solution is probably going to be the last thing I attempt before I'm screwed.. (I don't care if the solution involves forcing the correct resolution and still having a generic non-pnp driver)
