your gpu can support dual monitors, in fact it can support 3 in eyefinity.
your cpu will have little to no effect on whether you can do dual monitor or not.
to get dual monitor you need to use 1x dvi port 1 x hdmi or 1 x display port, you can't use the 2 dvi ports for dual monitor.

wasn't meant as bad advice, my bad.
I had eyefinity stuck in my head.
but on that note i'll tell you why i said it, their are 3 display drivers on the amd cards 1 for the 2 x dvi 1 for the hdmi and 1 for the display port.
the dvi port is 2 different types single link and dual link, both have different ends, you'll notice this if you look closely, the part with the cross head and 4 pin holes isn't there on the other it is a single horizontal pin.(may be different on some cards dependant on manufacturer)
so not all dvi cables will fit that port, and their are 5 different types of dvi.

i could go on and give more reasons but suffice to say for optimal performance your better off using 2 different ports as each driver has a maximum resolution it's capable of displaying(this is also listed on the spec sheet at amd), and if you want to upgrade to eyefinity you have to use 3 seperate ports to make it work you can not and never will be able to use 2 x dvi ports in eyefinity.
so it wasn't just bad advice it was misleading advice, but i had good reasons for my thoughts at the time which were somehow stuck in eyefinity thoughts....don't know why.
