+1, I fully agree with Steve. The Crucial M4 or the Samsung 300 or 400 (not the Pro) are fine SSDs.

And don't get all caught up in data transfer rates. They mean relatively little for the OS. It's the fast access time that gives you the speed.

The SSD access time between brands/controllers is minimal, all of them are fraction of milli-second.

All of the SSDs I've used has/had Sandforce controller and neither of them had any issues. Crucial and OCZ worked fine for my systems. The current Intel SSD with Sandforce controller, that Intel customized, works just as well.
