USB Wireless Mouse was working, now not working. 2nd PC - same result!
Hi, I installed a (plug and play) Visenta Cobble USB wireless mouse to my Samsung Series 5 notebook running Windows 7, 64, Home Premium Service Pack 1.
Worked for about a week (two or three reboots during that period), now nothing. Not even a pop up indicating an issue.
Installed mouse today into another Windows 7 machine, worked for 5 mins then again now nothing. (Not sure if died during use or if after a reboot - sorry can't remember exactly)
There are no issues shown on device manager. All looks to be working ok.
Tried various things...
1) Full windows update.
2) New batteries in mouse.
3) Uninstalling USB's.
5) Removing battery from laptop for 15 mins. (suggestion from other site, worked for some, not for others nor me)
6) Running DriveCleanup.exe as suggested on another thread on this site to clean up old drivers.
7) Tried all USB ports on both PC's.
Nothing at all has worked. Nothing at all happens when plugging in USB receiver. The only thing I did notice is that the 2nd laptop showed HID Mouse Driver or HID Compliant Mouse Driver in device manager but seems to have disappeared. Anyway of forcing a reinstallation of this? Not much info out there online though seems to be quite a common, and frustrating problem!
Gut feeling says Windows 7 accepts first installation and works ok but then completely ignores it's there - mostly likely after reboot(s).
Please help! Driving me insane! Been looking for solution for weeks to no avail.
