Samsung Galaxy S2 Hardware ID missing

Hi,

When I plug my Samsung Galaxy S2 smart phone in via USB2 socket the drivers laod ok but a Windows pop up reports the 'Hardware ID missing' and that I should contact the hardware manufacturer.

Is this a Samsung, Android or Windows issue?

I have looked on the Samsung website and downloaded up to date drivers without success. My previous phone was the same model but different OS version (which points to this being an Android issue). I cannot find any info out there so I am asking to see if you guys can shed any light.

Many thanks.
