I have backed up my drivers of my dell pc to a external hdd. Instead of going to device manager and selecting each drive and directing it to my external hdd, is there a software that can do it automatically for me? Thanks
You may not find any Dell validated software that automates the installation of all drivers that you've downloaded.
However, installing the drivers should not be tough either. Each driver file is an 'executable file' and once unzipped, launches an installation wizard that is self-explanatory. You may choose to install each driver one by one; and follow through with the installation. Please ensure that you follow the 'recommended sequence' to install the drivers. You may find the following web article useful: How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order | Dell
I also recommend you to have a close look at the following 'video' that provides a walk-through for 'downloading & installing' a driver: Video Support Center
To summarize:
- Open the folder with all driver downloads
(Note: Ensure that you install the drivers in correct sequence)
- The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\
- Click OK > Installation wizard appears > Follow through with positive instructions to complete installation
Hope this helps. Do reply if you have any further questions; would be glad to assist.
