Can't start print spooler Windows 7 Home Premium Canon Pixma i1700 printer.
Printer working until December 28. December 29 try to print. Get message to install printer. Get proper sounds when printer turned on and off. Try to install printer and get message to start spooler. Try to start spooler and get error 1053. All dependencies automatic and started. Tried all suggestions I could find including SFC scan and reinstalling driver, no help. Checked for spoolsv.exe which seems correct. Microsoft "Fix It" finds problem but can't start Spooler.
Tearing my hair out.
Just got (January 9) 16 automatic updates from Microsoft and printer working again! I'll see if it lasts.
Doesn't last! Now got in habit of saving a restore point (if printer is working) before closing down each time. Can't start spooler problem continues to occur about once a week. Then I just restore to last version. Wish I could make this unnecessary. Tried all suggested remedies to no avail.
Discovered that just restarting the computer corrects the problem for a while but does not cure it completely.
