Delete the FAT16 partition as well....it's useless (used by RECOVERY partition... which is gone). Now you have only 1 partition called OS.
The FAT16 partition is deleted now. See below.

We probably will not get this completed tonight. Should I leave the computer on 24/7 now until it is completed.

I have to set my BIOS so that it boots from a DVD first.

Are you using SSD and Harddisk at the same time later? It isn't possible to attach both to laptop at the same time as far as I know(?)
Yes. I plan to use both the Harddisk, SSD and DVD drive. The SSD will be where the DVD drive is. The DVD drive will be connected to the eSATA port for part time use.

NewModeUS.com has some very nice kits that are relatively inexpensive and they are very well made. Take a look:
Caddys for many models: caddys for notebooks
Drive Adapters: Drive Adapters : NewmodeUS, Hard Drive Caddys for Notebooks

Did you run startup repair 3 times already? After that boot normally and post bcdedit output. After that I gonna sleep.

If all went succesfull you have only 1 partition on disk and F8 recovery to "safe mode" and "repair your computer" work. Check that! Advanced Boot Options

I'll run them later. Dinner is being served now. I'll have them done for you to take a look at.

I sure hope that things went as you planned.

Post results later please. If all went fine.... buy the stuff and attach to to system. Tell me when done. Then we continue to move OS to SSD.

Thanks for your help. I ran the startup repair 3 times. They did so without any errors, glitches or anything. Below is the AOMEI snip and the bcdeddit/enum all>bcd.txt snip.

Is this correct what the AOMEI snip shows?

The equipment is here. Tiny, tiny screws, going to be hard on these old, shaky hands.

AOMEI screenshot is fine. One large partition with unallocated space in front. Who cares about unallocated space?! If OS has been transfered and works without errors... you can delete partition OS on HDD. And then create any partition you want.

    I don't see bcdedit output.

    Code:

    bcdedit/enum all>bcd.txt
    notepad bcd.txt
Now copy/paste the text in your post. close notepad and delete the file. I need readable text, so I can copy/paste and make eventually new commands to instruct you

I could not remember how to get it to copy to Notepad. The snip posted above that you probably can't identify is a bcdedit sans Notepad.

Anyway, below are the new bcdedit snips.

bcdedit output looks fine. But still no F8 winre functionality!

    In elevated command prompt:
    Code:
    reagentc/enable
Works? If so post bcdedit output again.

If not ... do you have file c:\windows\system32\recovery\winre.wim ?

Sorry, I've been out of town.

Well shucks, doesn't work and I don't have winre.wim See snips below. I DO have winRe.wim See later replies.
