Wireless Adapter malfunctioned after PC cleaning.

I am using ASUS N10J with windows 7 Ultimate. Today i disassembled it for cleaning as dust in fan was causing excessive heat.
    .
After assembling it worked fine but now wifi range is limited to my room only and moving to any other room causes disconnect. In other rooms PC sometimes shows the connection as available but never able to connect to it.
Connections during assembly were made correctly, I am not sure about their alignment though (Not sure if that matters). Also the Modem is working fine as other PC's and devices are working fine in the range without any disconnect. Can't be a software issue as already tried clean install twice with/without drivers.
    .
Adapter is having 3 connections going to the antenna's, two of them are connected to adapter and remaining one is lose with tape wounded around.
    .
I don't want to surrender it in the hand of any money extorting technician. PLZ HELP

Only thing I can think of is somehow you've managed to degrade the connection from the wireless card to the antennae which on most laptops is down each side of the screen. The wireless would still work but the range would be dramatically affected as you are finding.

Checked them all separately after turning off. The connections were intact.
    .
At last I dared to swap the antenna connection on wireless card, and it WORKED
    .
But the original connections were just opposite to the connections working fine now.
    Anyhow, Thanks for immediate response.
    Enjoying the full coverage now.
