Hello SDowney
I tried to download the Ubuntu onto a CD. But, Nothing nothing!!! The laptop will not boot from the CD. I have also gone over the Ubuntu forums, seems the disc did not burn correctly! Well, it only happens cos I am no expert on this
But TY for this resource.

Alternatively, you can create a Live USB drive with this program in windows, so no need to burn

This might work better
You must be able to boot from a USB hard drive device for this to work.
Some PC you hit a key, some use bios settings. Some of the settings might be tricky.
Usually newer system, you can hit a function key to select a boot device.

Burner guide, you can download a free burner.
Yeah I know its a pain sometimes.
I usually use CDRW or DVDRW for burns.
Must be BIG enough to fit the whole install onto the disc.

also verify the download checksum

highly recommended that you verify the md5 sum

Try giving the NAS drive a drive letter from Disk Management. Right click the used space and you will see the option, follow the prompts.
