Fresh install of Win7, won't recognize wired router.

That's it really. I get the red x ion the toolbar.

When I cmd ipconfig /all I get is:
Host Name.................... : MFisher
Primary DNS suffix.......... :
Node Type ....................: Hybrid
IP routing Enabled...........: No
WINS Proxy Enabled........: No

Someone else had this problem:
Can't connect to the internet or my wired Router

But their solution didn't work for me (I put in the CD that came with my new motherboard (ASUS - - ASUS P8Z77-V LX) and installed all of the drivers but that didn't work).

I'm currently on the same Internet but through my Ubuntu (which works flawlessly). Which leads me to believe it's either an option I have hidden away somewhere in Windows 7 or my motherboard having trouble communicating with the ethernet port with Windows 7.

Any ideas? It's day 5 and it's driving me nuts!

Try and use Ubuntu to download the files from ASUS to your hard drive and then start Windows and run the setup from there

Im not positive but I think this is for your motherboard
