Hi! First post on these forums but a long-time browser, so let me first apologise if this is a repost of a similar thread. I have searched around but can't find my specific problem.
Recently installed a new computer and I am very happy with it so far - however, I am encountering one rather annoying problem. My secondary monitor won't display anything when I wake up from sleep.
My primary monitor turns on as normal, and it seems my computer is still receiving input from the secondary monitor because the virtual 'screen' is still there - open windows are still on the other side, and I have to use Windows-Shift-Right Arrow to move them to my other monitor. So far, the only solution I've found is to go into Resolution Settings, set my display settings to 'Show desktop only on 1', apply this change, and then go back to 'Extend these displays' whereupon the screen turns on. But as I tend to put my computer to sleep quite a lot to save power, this solution is a bit vexing. Can anyone provide me with some enlightenment?
Addendum: my secondary monitor is quite old (16" and only 1280x1024res) and the power button has actually fallen off the front, exposing the circuit nub underneath. The only way I have found to turn it back off and on that way is to use one of those capacitive stylus' to press it, and as I don't own one, turning the monitor off and on isn't an option.
