Intel HD Graphics 3000 auto disable at startup

I bought an Asus K53S laptop about 4 months ago and recently I went to msconfig and disabled some startup programes. Three of them were Intel(R) Common User Interface:

    "C:\Windows\system32\igfxpers.exe"
    " \igfxtray.exe"
    " \hkcmd.exe"

What I basically did was unchecking those 3 Intel items as I already have Nvidia running in startup. I then enabled it back again and now it won't run in startup eventhough it is marked in msconfig. I cannot view the Intel icon in the taskbar as I used to see it before. I can only see the green Nvidia icon.

The first time I reboot the pc, I could only see a transparent Intel icon. I right clicked it and hit "Exit". Then in the second time I reboot, the icon didn't show eventhought it was enabled in msconfig.

Also, before I disabled them and enabled them back again, Windows Update installed an Intel update.

I would be extremely appreciated if anyone could help me with this problem.

Check your notification area and see if the icon is just disabled from showing. Right click open area of taskbar, select properties, then select customize tab.

The Intel icon does not appear in the notification area and also is not showing in properties>customize tab, even though it used to appear and it is enabled in msconfig. There is just a "igfxTray Module" and it is set to only show notifications.
