Loud Wave file sound (Not on startup)

Hi all, I went through all my possibilities on this one and I think I know what's going on, but don't know how to change it.
I heard a wav file sound (full volume playing through my sound card) and thought it was on start up. I did everything to quiet that sound in windows but it didn't help.
I reaslize now by experimentation, that it plays right before loading windows.
I thought perhaps there is some thing in the bios settings that could be playing this sound, but couldn't find anything to tweak.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Is this a POST beep code perhaps? Basically the hardware telling you there is a problem before the OS is loaded. If you want to explore that option I found this.

Thanks for the response. It is not a beep. It is a sound file going through the sound card, and is somewhat musical. I believe it is some sort of startup sound. If I knew how to see all that starts loading, perhaps I can see it and delete it.
    Thanks anyway!

Have you looked through what programs and services are started at boot time? Could be that.

    Press windows key + R
    Type "msconfig" and press enter
Take a look at all the stuff in there
You also have options for boot logging and such

Does the same sound play when you boot up in safe mode?

You mentioned that you had an idea of what is going on... what is your guess?
