2560 x 1600 Monitors why are they so expensive.
Is this the highest resolution we can go, and dam why are they so expensive ?
I take it they`re way better then 1920 X 1080 ?

Because they are 30 inch monitors!
You can get 2560 x 1600 resolution in a smaller monitor, but to get that resolution in a 30 inch monitor requires billions more pixels (OK- slight exaggeration. Maybe millions)

Most if not all 30" 2560x1600 resolution monitors are premium displays which ONLY have the best panels, and are made for professionals needing a lot of real estate and need the fine grain resolution for say a work environment. Several of them come color calibrated and they have higher quality parts inside.
If you think they are expensive, take a look at 4k resolution displays!
Edit: A good compromise would be a 27" 2560x1440 display.........they are more and more common and the prices are coming down quite a bit.

I bought a ViewSonic 27 inch for 349.00 1920/1080 3 inches for a little more RES doesn't make the price point to make me want to pay 1000.00 vs 380.00 tottal with tax i think at this point it is more of a Luxury item then something that will get work done better visually
You have to settle sometimes because seriously i wouldn't throw that much out there even for a Bigscreen TV especially with all the hassel in returning RMA and getting your warrenty etc covered

Very true. I picked up a Samsung tv from Best Buy(usually against my principles, but they actually had the best price on it) and after about a week I found 4-5 stuck pixels. I ran it through all of the tests I could and found out one pixel was dead and 4 were just stuck......no luck fixing them either. I called them and told them what the deal was and they said to bring it up there so they could test it. The guy testing it was cool.....he let me come around the counter to the testing area and show him where they were, he saw them and went and got a replacement right away. I started to buy that same tv from Newegg as it was a few bucks cheaper with no shipping....I can't imagine how much of a pain it would be to return it, that is if they WOULD exchange it.
I have purchased monitors online before, and I stressed the entire time about the condition on delivery. I have been fortunate thus far.

I understand the point when it comes to a Physical store but even they have retarded return policy
most of what i buy is in a physical store anyway but still there are times you have to go through the Mfc process that is a B*%$ to say the least
My point was nothing is worth paying that much for when general products have similar quality or possibly a sub division of a major brand
I still look for quality and performance when it comes to buying those type of things but alot of the features i would say a small 15 % if any actually would use them and others fail to learn anything about it as long as they can flip the channels they are good
for me i figured out you can still get quality and performance but you don't always have to pay through the nose for it best buy and frys are all good places to buy TV's so is Walmart and Target I honestly don't see a difference in buying from them VS best buy frys or even Microcenter my prefered spot that's all im saying

27" 1080p monitors are good deals, especially with a good IPS or PLS panel. Also, a 2560x1440/1600 resolution monitor needs a beefy graphics card to run well. Those high resolutions were initially reserved for professionals, and they are just trickling down to us.
