Have 2 sticks of 4GB ram in my notebook, but..

It only shows 7.87GB usable. Moreover, I just got a BSOD that says page fault in non paged area. Could it be the ram issue? Got it twice in like 2 months? Last month and this month.

What method or program are you using to see your ram?

You will never get all 8gb's showing up. Heres why : The usable memory may be less than the installed memory on Windows 7-based computers

As Layback Bear asked you, a screen shot of what it is you're seeing/not seeing will help immensely to give you guidance.

If you really want help with the BSOD, post a dump for us to look at.

It is pointing to memory corruption, could be bad ram or memory slot.
  • Where did you buy the 2 sticks you put in?
  • Did you buy matching pairs?
  • Did BSOD's start after installing new ram?
  • Try to re-seat the memory sticks.
  • indianacarnie is correct, all ram has a slight overhead, and you will not see the full amount, read his link.
  • If re-seating the ram doesn't help I would suggest to run: RAM - Test with Memtest86+
  • Test will take a while to run, at least 7 runs.
  • Post test results when finished.
  • Where are your system specs? We need to know what type of machine you have.

Probably caused by : memory_corruption ( nt!MiUpdateWsle+2b9 )
