SPEEDFAN giving a wild reading - Bug?
Does Speedfan have a problem with newer motherboards and/or processors?
I am getting a reading of 124C for the CPU in Speedfan. This is on a P9X79-Pro board with an i7-3820, all running at default speeds.
The motherboard UEFI shows at temp or 32C. And I checked with a digital thermometer - not above 32C. All the other temps in Speedfan correspond to the UEFI readings. It's only the processor with that wild reading.
The processor would have shut down long ago if it were running that hot. But the inside the case and the surface of the cooler pipes are cool.
I mostly use Speedfan to get fast SMART readings, not temps or fan control. But I'm curious if anyone else has seen this and knows what it is.
