HP Printer connected and all, but doesn't print.

I just recently installed Win7 on a newly built computer for my parents, and HP got me the right drivers for Win7 64 bit and all, but the printer never prints. All the documents just sits in the printer queue of the printer. What could be wrong with it?

Also, I installed a Lexmark Z110 series printer on my desktop, Win7 64bit, got it to be detected and all, but still it doesn't print either. Won't even do a test page or nothing.

If Windows 7 drivers were never offcially made for your printer than it won't work correctly despite Windows 7 installing what it thought were the correct drivers. Printer drivers for new Op systems are typically slow to come about.

I can't get my old Dell printer to work either despite that fact that Win7 attempted to install drivers for it. Dell never even made Vista 64 drivers for my printer so Win7 one's will just never happen.

An old trick - provided as a starting point for research purposes only.

Installing the HP Laser Jet Series II driver enabled numerous printers in the XP and earlier days. Both HP and not HP. This was because so many printers were built around the underlying technology.

There may be a universally acceptable driver for your printer(s).

I'ts a HP PSC1350 All In One printer they have. Really don't need to get mine working if there's works.

HP gave me the Vista64 drivers and it installed fine and everything. Sees the printer, does EVERYTHING else but print.

Hello Bryce, as we understand the issue, you installed the HP printer in a USB port, and Windows detected the new priner? Or did you use a software installation disk?
Let us know, as depending on the installation we may need to do it again.
1 common issue is that users will plug the printer in before using installation disk and this will muck up drivers.
Let us know and we will walk you through it
