Well I play at 1280x800. Everything high. 4xAA and Physx on and it's nice and smooth. The only time so far I noticed a bit of slow down was when I was in the foyer of a building with many banners suspended from the ceiling and the blues started shooting out the glass office windows. | My System Specs | | OS Windows Seven 7068 x64 CPU Core Duo e6300 @ 2.8ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P965-DS3 Memory 3gb DDR2 800 Graphics Card 9600GT Sound Card XFi extrememusic Monitor(s) Displays 22" LCD WIDE Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech Illuminated Mouse Logitech MX Revolution PSU 400W PSU Case Coolermaster Mystique Cooling Stock cooling Hard Drives 2 Diamondmax 80 GB Internet Speed 2Mb |

two points... or rather a point and a question;
while physx is nifty and all, support is still rather sparse in games in general (handful at best) so unless you're running a game at any given time that uses physx, turn it off. sucks up some power (not a whole lot, but still..) and adds to your temps. not using it? not worth it, leave it off. if you do use it? turn it off when you're not in the game(s). save a bit of stress on the guts of your card if nothing else ;o just don't forget to toggle it back on before you play. ^_^

The issue I have is, I have one of the original Physix cards (non nvidia), and Windows 7 just does not pick it up. Nor does it install with the Physx software.
Vista and XP are both fine. the latest Software installs the drivers... but Windows 7 does not.
Any Ideas? Getting a new card is not an option, as my original Physix excelerator card still out does nvidia's onboard chip.... and that would just pee me of if I had to remove it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self Built OS Windows 7 64bit, ubuntu 9, Vista32 Ultimate, Windows XP CPU AMD phenom 9600 Black Edition Motherboard Gigabyte GB-M somthing somthing somthing dark side Memory 4gb (looking at more, now I'm running 64bit - 6gb will do) Graphics Card AMD 4850 pro Sound Card Fatal1ty Pro Gamer Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 21" thingy 2mps Screen Resolution 1680 1050 Keyboard yes Mouse yes PSU 600w Case I am one. Oh, its an Old Aztec Tower (900 series) Cooling several hundred fans and an office cooler. Hard Drives a few. Internet Speed HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ADSL, 2mb (if I'm lucky - im in a sh*t area) Other Info I also have a BFG Physix Card. And Before I get brained by the nVidia fanboys for not using a shi**y nVidia card instead... there is another reason for the AMD 4850pro, other than gaming, that no nVidia card will ever be able to do. So We'll just leave it at that.
Its not the greatest system, but it does everything "I" need it to do. And self built for a total of £500, there's no arguing. physX config... problems? All times are GMT -5. The time now is 02:00 PM. | |
