    Phantom Floppy

I don't have a floppy drive connected to the ASUS P5Q motherboard, yet, both Win7 and my old XP insist on listing it in both Windows Explorer, and device manager.

Disabling and/or removing it only results in New Hardware found on the next boot.

    Any ideas?

In your BIOS, disable the floppy drive.

That, or Device Manager > Right click Floppy Disk Drive > Properties > Driver tab > Disable.
