DVD drive missing after a software uninstall.

I'm running Win7 64bit. After uninstalling "Poweriso" is when I noticed dvd drive missing. After rebooting, a message window from "AnyDVD" popped up.That's what got my attention, but it seems unrelated to the uninstall. Uninstall program scans for leftover files afterwards and removes them ( 3 registry entries, all poweriso entries). I don't know, but is it possible that maybe this could be the cause of the problem? Device manager shows that it (drive) is there but it has the yellow triangle with exclamation point. I tried reinstalling driver but it comes back with message that drivers are up to date. Rebooted several times with no luck. I'm not sure what to try next. Thanks for any input or suggestions.

Ok, so the easiest thing for me to do would have been to try what was suggested in the "AnyDVD" message window, but nooooo, that would have been too easy, I had to talk myself into believing that it had to have something to do with the uninstall of "Poweriso". Anyway, after screwin' around for most of the day I finally tried uninstalling "AnyDVD" and reinstalling it, and I will be kickin' myself in the ass for a week for not trying that first.DOH!!! The dvd-rom reappeared after the reboot. What a dummy!

Glad that you got it working - maybe it will take less time next time

I see optical drives disappear when I uninstall iTunes for people. Several other programs cause this to happen too.

I was only wondering why you didn't do or not doing it in the first instance when I read your post.
