    You're welcome .
Hi regarding the eBay one the seller said "Hi, in your situation you would get a free extension bracket worth £3.. just incase the taller pci express is fitted"

Shall I leave the eBay one?

Unsure sure about an extension bracket :S

I've asked him to provide me with a link.

I would need one as it was too short?

    Ok some confusion has arisen.

Regarding the eBay link, you said it wouldn't work. I asked the eBay seller and he said it will as long as you use an extension bracket. I asked for a link regarding the extension bracket he said "I should just trust him" and he never provided that link/pictures of the extension bracket.

Do you recommend buying the eBay link that comes with an extension bracket?

P.S. Extension bracket/adapter same thing so to answer your last question, yes.

I'd ask what the return policy is before purchasing it

Policy:Buyer must pay return postage in all cases, a 20% restocking fee applied to all returned items

    Shall I go for it?

    LOL

    Myself

    Ok I'll get reading now.

Edit: Forget it. I've already paid for the RAM and installed it for him. It's hard finding the correct part as evident by this thread so imagine installing it and finding the correct drivers etc... I personally don't like the sound of an extension bracket.

Thanks for your help but the solution is to stick to 2.4Ghz and invest time and money in a good router setup as on 2.4Ghz you can actually get fast speed as long as you have a good router + ISP.

Anyways he will most probably end up getting a new laptop within the next couple of years of which would most likely support 5Ghz Wi-Fi.

Most Laptops come with an 802.11ac which will be faster then the Wireless-N cards. But you will also need the router to be an AC router to get that speed.
