After cleaning, computer isn't booting up
So I've just cleaned and dusted out my computer. I removed only the ram and the video card, nothing else. The ram is back in place and the video card is nice and snug and powered on, other than that I didn't move any components.
Now when I turn the computer on, it powers on, all of the fans are running, the power light is on, the optical drive works....except it doesn't output any video. Regardless of whether I connect my monitor to the video card or the motherboard, neither make anything happen. In fact, I'm noticing that after powering up the computer, to turn it off I need to hold down the power button to force reset rather than simply being able to click it off. That seems unusual, typically from the boot screen I can just hit the power button once to turn it off.
After looking up the problem, I'm wondering if I messed up in the actual cleaning:
- I used compressed air, which I briefly held upside down before realizing I was not supposed to do that
- I also used a paper towel to do some of the cleaning, which I've since read may not be a good idea
If you guys have any thoughts it would be much appreciated!!
