    [Confuse] HDD Size


    Why is it here is 403 GB used ?



    but here is only 85.2 GB used ? where the !@#$% is 300+ GB that i used ? NOOB HERE !

    Hello JC try the Partition Wizard and then explore the partitions. In the second pic you can expand them out to see inside folders etc

    Another neat tool is Space Sniffer....analyzes your drive and shows you a graphical representation of how much space you are using and what exactly is using it. Space Sniffer Download link at the bottom of the page.

    Well speaking for myself I found myself doubling up on a lot of programs on my Ivy Bridge and just went in and culled them once I found the problem folder / files.

    Maybe the 2nd screenshot is just looking at a portion of the HDD.......I don't really have a clue.

    can i free up the missing 300 gb ? hehe and oh ! heres my drive E





    why ? im still confuse. hehe. i want my 300 gb back. but if the use of 300 gb is important , nevermind !

    its only 85 gb in this software. but when i go to properties of my drive e its 403 gb

    Now a screenshot of the initial screen where I have the arrows is going to show how the partitions are set up. In mine I only have the two partitions on each drive the small one is an SD card.

    Yep KB that is just a pat of the partition those +'s just open them out even further to see what is in them bit like burrowing down into the regedit stuff.

    Now JC it is very hard to see what is in your shots and it would be better to use the Snipping tool to get a better view.

    How to Use the Snipping Tool in Vista

    The Partition Wizard does a lot of other partition functions as well as just seeing what is in there
