Sounds good. Let us know how it comes out. Are you getting stand by power? When you try to start the computer does anything happen? I'm sure you should get leds lighting up or fans start evenn if for only a second, even with a bad CPU. Have you tried the 'paper clip' test?
They create an enormous amount of heat compared to other CPUs. The issue seems to be that it is not the thermal paste they used, but the glue that attaches the IHS to the CPU. The glue is very thick and heavy, which causes the IHS to not make contact with the die. Therefore it is extremely difficult to remove the heat with almost any cooler. Removing the glue allows the IHS to make contact with the dye. I know of people who have done it and have experienced 35°C drop in heat at the same speed and voltage while running Prime.
While I wait for the tester, I have taken some pictures so you can take a look and see what you think. I think it looks worse in the picture than it does in person. The rest is dust that kept accumulating while taking the pictures. I have the links because I think they too large to load on here.

I've never done it, so I really can't tell. But the issues is not scratching the PCB when removing the glue once taken off, and if you even touch the die when removing the IHS, it done. This guy is quite knowledgeable about it, he has done several.
