    Recently bought a bluetooth adapter.

    Hello,
I have recently bought a new bluetooth adapter and for some reason it doesn't seem to be working. I put it into the USB slot on my computer and nothing at all comes up, no message, no signal that it is in, absolutely nothing. On the user guide it states that the sytem requirements are 'windows xp / vista / 7' and that it also needs 'USB host controller installed on the system'. I am not sure if I have this 'USB host controller' installed. Any ideas or suggestions ?

It also did not come with a CD.

    Much appreciated.

Go to the manufacturers site and download the Bluetooth software so you have control of turning it on and off etc.

I have been looking around, but to no luck have found the manufacturers website.
Buy Micro USB Bluetooth Adaptor - 10m at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for Wireless networking accessories.
That is the bluetooth adapter I have purchased.

The manufacturers Part BD-05CA shown on the device does not lead to any useful information, in fact the only real informational is from others like yourself who have failed to get this device to operate. It does show comparability with XP & Vista, so it may not work with Windows 7.

I would suggest you return the device for refund and try to source another item, preferably from a named supplier and complete with drivers, which are needed, although basic BT drivers are included in Windows 7

I've used quite a few of these little Bluetooth dongles without issue on Win XP, Win 7 & Win 8. I've always bought the cheapest ones I could find (paid as little as $2 US) and none have ever come with drivers, the OS seems to support them just fine without any additional drivers needed.

    I recently purchased 3 of these: http://dx.com/p/ultra-mini-bluetooth...0-dongle-37665
They work great and I love them because they are really tiny and unobtrusive. No drivers included and they work fine on Win XP, Win 7 & Win 8.

You say nothing happens when you plug it in? If you don't even get a message that an unrecognized USB device has been plugged in when you insert it into the USB port, then I would say the one you got is DOA. Return it as defective. If it was a driver issue, the OS would give you a message saying it couldn't find a driver for the device.
