    Enclosure advice please ?

Hi...I want to get an enclosure for the usual purposes and am ging to buy from eBay...there are literally hundreds of similar devices, differing seemingly only in price...some for a few pounds/dollars and others for ten times the price...my question is...is there any real difference in these enclosures and will buying one of the cheaper enclosures differ from the more expensive ? Is there any real difference in a basic enclosure ?

I just don`t want to waste hard won cash !

If you are referring to a HD enclosure , I bought one from NewEgg about 10 years ago and it is still working and cost somewhere around 15 bucks. Mine does not have any fans but a great heat sink and I have had no problems with it.

I'm an Antec fan myself and I'm not really into the fansy looking enslusures. That being said, I researched into which enclosure provided the best air flow and provided the best space for my purposes.

Thanks guys for your replies...I will go for something that is from a decent seller and neither too cheap or too expensive...the reason I asked is that there are some for an amount that seems ludicrously low and conversely, ludicrously expensive, with what looks like the same,or at least similar, item !

Thanks again guys and you have given me something I had not thought of...the airflow around the device...no big deal I know but I had not even thought of that.

Does it have to be from eBay? I always use Vantec enclosures, and have had probably 10+ in all my years. They are made very well, are usually cheap, and do a nice job of keeping temps under control.

Hi...I`m in the UK and there`s no store available here...neither online it appears from their website so as such it`s much easier to just buy from eBay...there are several high street retailers local to me and I may give them a look to see what they have...I`m not particularly a fan of eBay but at times it is just as easy if it isn`t expensive to order from there...I`ve just seen one for what I guess converts to about $10 from what seems to be a decent and responsible seller.

Mine is made by Roswell and it has a key where you can unlock it and put anothger derive in. Having no fan does not bother me as I only use it to back up images so it is only on for 20 minutes.
