To be honest Erkronos you are not going to make a gamer
out of this computer. Even with low demand games. If you could it would cost more than a new computer would cost.

I think all he'd need is a new video card and a new PSU. The CPU is actually not that bad (it's just a couple steps below mine), and I believe his memory good for now too. I mean, it's 4GB of DDR3-1333, even though it's single channel.

Hum for my two cents worth the specs for that Pegatron are all over the place most I can find are laptop related and HP at that yet the specs at the bottom state it is an Acer desktop.

The max ram goes from 4 to 16GB so an actual number off the mobo PCB (printed circuit board) would give us a better idea of what is actually in there as Speccy although good is not always that accurate.

SIW might be slightly better but a visual on that board is best.

Yeah, but the secret is in the CPU. Compare what it says in his System Specs and what's in the screenshot and then smack your forehead, but just do it lightly. The last time I did that, I had to put my brain back into my head through one of the holes in it! I had no idea that this could happen. My parents always warned me about that.

Like the rest of you I have not had any luck on finding specs on this computer.
Another thing to take under consideration would be when and if improving the gaming capability of this computer to play games under more load would be cooling. I seriously doubt if this computer could handle the extra heat generated.

Layback Bear is right. Most of the OEM's are not known for putting many fans, if any, into their computers. I would also be concerned with a new PSU. Will the case size accommodate it and are the connections proprietary like they are in so many OEM computers.

Errrrr (Brain hurts!)
I do not see a model number anywhere in this thread for a prebuilt HP. OP's specs are for an Aspire laptop. What am I missing? (I just got in and I'm only on my first beer).

Erkronos: what is the model number of the HP? (A link to the website = even better!)

Compare the rest of the specs to the screenshot. Then notice how the video card and optical drive says "HP". So, he has two computers: a laptop, and this HP computer.

Yep, got that. But without the model number we are just fumbling in the dark.

It could be the HP PAVILLION P6725ES:

Or, maybe even any of the P6700 series. That sounds right to me because the CPU in his computer is compatible with the Intel P67 chipset.
