    Notebook upgrade advice please

    G'day,

I've been thinking about upgrading my ASUS X54C notebook by adding a SSD, and possibly more RAM.

Before I open this thing up to take a closer look, is anyone familiar with this notebook to be able to say it does or doesn't have sufficient space for both the existing 2.5" HDD, and a SSD? I guess the only real way to tell is by opening it up?

I can't seem to find an internal diagram that might give me a clue, but these are the specifications if it helps.

Currently, I have 4GB RAM, and considering upgrading to 8GB.

    Thanks muchly,
    Golden

    Hi Golden,

The only thing I've seen or heard it you can get a case of some sort for the optical drive for the HD and replace it? But you would be left with no Optical, and put you sdd in the HD slot and get the case for the optical slot and put you HD there?

Cool - that caddy is a great suggestion if I can't fit both inside the current setup. I'm not too bothered about losing the DVD drive since all my installs etc. I do from USB these days anyway.

Ya the same here don't really use the optical drive. That's the only way I can think of with your model. It would work I would say.
