USB 3.0 ports not reading 2.0 devices

I just received my new computer and everything is great, When I use the two front USB ports which are 3.0 with a 2.0 device it won't read it at all? I checked all the drivers where up to date. It reads 3.0 devices but not 2 and I have no idea what to do.

Anyone know what I could do? I've tried searching stuff but have had no luck. I have read a few things about the BIOS or something but I have no idea what to do in that or how to get to it lol

Try plugging the usb 2.0 devices in a 2.0 usb port. Most of the time it should be backwards compatible though.

Your 3.0`s are blue and your 2.0`s ( most likely out back ) are black.

They work in the 2.0 ports but they're located at the back of the PC and I use my headset a lot when on skype or gaming and it can become quite annoying always having to move my pc to plug it in.

    Appreciate the reply.

Plug what in ? Your headset ? Why can`t you just leave it plugged in ?

I just use a headset with a mini plug, so you must have something different.

I have a few 2.0 devices I use a bit, and only 2 ports.. it would get quite annoying having to move the computer all the time to use these ports
