External monitor putting a shadow to everything?

I'm really hoping it's not my screen and just my VGA cable. It does it to everything on the screen. Anyone know the cause of this?

    Picture example below.

Could be the cable. try reseating it and change your resolution and refresh.

How do I change the refresh rate?

None of that worked. I guess I'll go buy another cable sometime soon. Thanks though.

Try checking your vid card too, look at the connector and clean if necessary and reset it. Good luck!

Also try your monitor settings, sometimes a factory reset does wonders.
