    USB drive purchase

Which is better when it comes to speeds & durability?
    1. Older Sandisk Cruzer 32GB
    2. Newer Sandisk Cruzer Glide 32GB

I have the older Sandisk Cruzer 16GB; it's lasted me quite some time & has even been through a round in the washer (by accident of course) & a few re-formattings, but has never let me down.

Since they are both on sale this week, I may get one. Both come aquiped w/software which I don't plan on using & will remove right away. W/capacity & pricing being the same, which is better when it comes to speed & durability?

CJW, I really can't answer that. I have several of the older ones, that have proven to be very reliable and durable. But they also seemed to be slower than some other brands, to me. I have no experience with the newer models.

I have one 4GB Cruzer and it's the slowest one I have ever seen. I would suggest getting an Adata or Patriot one, you get what you pay for.

I have a couple of Sandisk Cruzers and if the ones your looking at have the plastic body (instead of metal) part that plugs into the usb socket then I would recommend you avoid them at all costs. Both the the plastic ones i have are very tight fit into the usb sockets and have even damaged a extension cable i was using. I now never use them unless they go into a replaceable cable, never into a pc usb socket.

I will never buy another without a metal connector end.

I have several Sandisk USB drives. Some old, some new. The OLD Sandisk drives are about twice as fast as the new Sandisk drives available. Both have been very reliable though.
