On DXdiag and control panel it says "4 cpu's" and when I open up task manager it also shows just 4 boxes. Doe sthat mean I have 4 physical cores? Or is DXdiag counting my threads as physical cores?

An intel i5 650. Most sources say this is a 2 core CPU with hyperthreading...as in 2 physical and 2 hyperthreaded.

Oh now I see it. Thanks okay.

Darn! Scammed. I wish I knew then what I know now...I'd have backhand slapped the guy when he sold me it telling me it was a quad core. Oh well.

You should have researched it first, now you know.

If he told you it was a quad core, and it isn`t, return it and demand your money back.

If you`re good, mark the thread solved.
